I’m giving evidence in that inquiry, don’t know why when I only went there twice for rape. Not sure how helpful it will be but

I’m sure all evidence will be useful to the inquiry as it all helps build the bigger picture

Yes, that’s true.. I don’t understand why we have to wait for the support first though. I thought we just pass on what info we have with evidence and then that was it, didn’t realise it was complex

I suppose it’s the safety net, if you give your evidence and it triggers unexpected feelings or flashbacks; better safe than sorry.

Ah yeah. I didn’t think of it that way. I spoke to Izzy about it 3 times but I still don’t really understand it. I process better when it’s written down for some reason.

If they start taking evidence without the support in place, I’d say that’s irresponsible! When I gave my evidence to the national inquiry, I was in a good place. Afterwards I still felt a sense of hypersensitivity and vulnerability..

It's shocking how you can feel good in yourself, but retelling the trauma even when you want to and need to, can hit you like a ton of bricks afterwards. I've found myself driving down the road and suddenly burst into tears out of nowhere.

I’ve found myself retreating back to my old ways. Started talking to a girl who used to drug me and she thinks we should get drunk and go visit one of our abusers..not sure if it’s my trauma brain thinking it’s a good idea or not

I think our brains can play plenty of crappy tricks on us after trauma. What feels familiar can feel safe. The fact you can say what have out loud means you know it’s not the best for you. My DM’s are always open if you need to chat or distract yourself
