Anna, please have a read of the blog review I have just published. I am not saying it is perfect life for them, but it is a world away from the existence which they had in Sumatra
. Thankfully all the elephants here in Bali were rescued from Sumatra and operate a completely zero brutality/cruelty in the training and management of the elephants and their mahouts.I know of people that work in replica places of this in India and they are disgusting. The government there even state it’s illegal to exploit the animals like this but do nothing as it’s ‘economy’. Not lining their pockets and educating others is the only way to stop it.
