We were sent on a compulsory parenting course by the courts. They treated us both as if we were failed parents. One who abused, abandoned & mistreated kids & the other one who brought them up entirely alone (me) Your course sounds better
In our case we were both sent ( he abused and left us). He never turned up, beyond him he thought 
. I had just had our second child who he refused to see but wanted to see our eldest. The mediator ( also ordered) said he was incapable of mediating too.

Oh my God Literally identical situations. We paid for mediation and counselling. Both times I was told that, unless he was willing to make the change and accept responsibility, we were all wasting our time. We've never bothered again because he is incapable of seeing how he is

The court ordered an indirect contact only order. He had forced me to court claiming I was stopping our eldest seeing him, when we would be waiting in the car for him to collect at agreed place. He would send texts saying ‘why are you stopping me seeing my son?’ 1/2
