I was involved with a man I met online for almost a year. I discovered his name and identity were fake and that he was a lawyer. The law needs to change.

Anne Pyke Retweeted Simon Warr RIP

When police trawl for victims to build a case, all 'independent' allegations must follow a pattern and be strikingly similar. The only way for the police to achive that is to coach.https://twitter.com/bbcsimonwarr/status/1108022298920054784 …

The scandal of the hidden role being played in the generation of false institutional sexual allegations by online ‘trawling farms’ linked to certain firms of PI solicitors needs to be exposed. Fraudsters are being coached & there are clear links to specific police forces. pic.twitter.com/UsZUTak5Y7

That would explain the relunctance to charge 'complainants' as it would expose the scandal.

As "Believe the victim" policy took hold, police were encouraged to befriend victims. There are cases where police emailed "victims" as friends, starting "Dear Hun" and sent 000s of friendly and encouraging messages. Hard to turn round and prosecute your new best friend.

@CAAGed 'Hard prosecuting your new best friend' - You do what needs to be done so they can't do it to anyone else. It's the CJS that makes it hard, not the witnesses/complainants.https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6286383/Police-inspector-suspended-claims-slept-women-met-duty-faces-no-criminal-charges.html …

Yes, my point was that if police become too close to "victims" this makes it hard for them to turn around and prosecute them if in the event they turn out to be liars. A line of formality needs to be observed.

Complainants making false historical sexual allegations are normally exposed in a public court as they commit perjury, yet they are not prosecuted.

Unfortunately not always. You were fortunate in certain ways. There is a "Believe the victim" culture which extends all the way through to the judiciary and we have many innocents wrongly convicted of these crimes and in prison.

And there's a hell of a lot of GUILTY people acting the victim, free and UN-prosecuted. I'm yet to experience this 'believe the victim culture', I must have blinked as it passed me by in the last 8 years.

I think it applies in different areas to the one you got caught up in. It relates to allegations of SEXUAL offences whereas your case was something different.

My IOPC/CPS case is allegations of sexual gross misconduct in public office. Sexual being the operative word.

The false allegations brigade. From what I've seen I think they only research their own side of justice/none justice.
