      Re forgiveness - what I can tell you from my own research is that encouraging women and girls to forgive their abuser or rapist is not in their best interest, does not help their psychological well-being and puts extra shame, guilt and pressure on them that they do not need.

      I quite like ‘pity’ for abusers and rapists / it takes all their power away.

      This has been my absolute mentality towards ours. I feel sorry for him, pity him, living his life thinking this is an ok thing to do to other human beings makes him devoid of real emotions and empathy. What a sad way to live?
