Without #hs2 we simply don’t have the rail capacity for the future to get people & freight off roads and cut transport #co2 emissions to tackle #climatechange. Stopping HS2 isn’t ‘green’, it’s exactly the opposite. You have no viable alternatives.
#HS2 will damage:
- 12 Sites of Special Scientific Interest
- 111 Local Wildlife Sites
- 19 ancient woodlands
We can't just view a sustainable future through the lens of CO2 reduction & #zerocarbon otherwise projects like this are justified

I agree the rail network needs strengthening but a sustainable future shouldn't be abt smashing through green areas with mega projects not carbon neutral for over 100yrs that support BAU value creation. I'm certain we have the skills+tech to come up with better ways of doing this
