A man’s love for man’s best friend is a powerful force. Kaleb Benham from Grass Valley took on a 350 pound bear that was attacking his rescue dog, “Buddy.” Kaleb said he heard a growl the saw the bear dragging buddy “by his head.” So he tackled the bear and punched itpic.twitter.com/XAhTrS2AEC
Buddy’s face was severely damaged. His ears had to be stapled back on. But he’s recovering! Kaleb and Buddy spent Thanksgiving laying in bed resting, but they’re more thankful than ever. Photo of Buddy as Kaleb watched from outside the operating room

Kaleb lives off You Bet road in Grass Valley. He says bears are a common issue, constantly. But they don’t normally attack dogs @CBSSacramento

I can’t understand why people would ever need a gun in today’s modern times? DUH. Here’s the perfect example of why you SHOULD own at least one gun. If this was some poor old lady she would have watched buddy get ate. A gun would be her only chance.
Um...by the time an old lady gets inside and back with her gun, the poor dog would have been a goner. Unless granny carries that gun around her waist all day

It is often said that “we don’t deserve dogs”; in this case I think we can make an exception for Kaleb! What a hero!! 
Lots of people on here saying they would do the same, but in reality I'm not sure many would. This guys a stud and really loves his dog.
