How fast can we see results on a low carbohydrate, high fat diet? To find out, my patient spent 2 weeks with an Abbott Freestyle Libre Pro continuous glucose monitor. Week 1, baseline, Left; Week 2, ad lib feeding , right. Note marked change in daily average glucose

This kind of policy is so misinformed - blaming meat for climate change is akin to blaming cholesterol for heart disease. I hope the UK will not implement this as it will have catastrophic effects on people’s health, especially on low income homes

Unfortunate study since it conflicts with historic evidence that osteoporosis begins when humans started eating high carbohydrate, grain-based diets. Human height fell thereafter. Bone-building nutrients are not found in high carbohydrate foods. Seems rather obvious.

Congratulations John! Down 161 pounds in one year on a low-carb diet is pretty damn impressive. No "cheat meals" in the entire year is perhaps even more so. It figures though. People who truly go all in often get the most stunning results.

This seems to be confusing a lot of people: diets can be helpful in because with fewer carbs, less is needed and blood sugars spike less. BUT, people with still need insulin 24/7 or they will die. No diet will change that. Full stop.

Food and mood. Brain health can sometimes be linked to nutrient deficient diets. I would rather use food than drugs to treat patients if food addresses the causes and drugs only treat symptoms.
