Today my friend called me to rant about a decision she took that we all knew to be quite irrational, and almost impossible. It seemed rushed and under researched, and born out of internal pressure.

Everything she complained about, I'd forecasted and informed her about. "Doing X will result in A,B,C,D happening. Are you convinced this is the next step for you?" And she always said yes.

When she was ranting today, I was not surprised. Everything was unfolding quite like I'd imagined. But I was glad that she decided to call me and share her burden and so I was empathetic and encouraging.

It got me thinking of Jesus weeping in John 11:35. He had known prior to it all happening, that Lazarus was going to die, (and be raised again). All of that was clear to Him, but He was still present in the moment.

It wasn't about Him, it was a moment of sorrow with a very dead man involved, and so He wept. Jesus is in every sense, the perfect example.

So I've decided I'll just be there for my friend. Let's go on the rollercoaster together, and I'll offer every ounce of my support as much as I can. Cause that's what friends do. That's what Jesus does.
