Yesterday's shooting death in our neighborhood was tragic but it's deeper than that. The alleged crime and unnecessary, deadly intervention are both failings. It's sad and I pray for those involved as well as resolve to do what I can in this role: https://news.anc5b01.com/2023/01/on-neighborhood-shooting.html…
We would like to thank our fans, the other schools that competed in the Super 16 and the NCAA for the continued support as we grow our program. #GoBulldogs🐶💙
Thank you to the Honorable Cheryl Johnson, Clerk of the US House of Representatives, for leading us all through this process. Thank you for your consistency, clarity, patience. This New Orleans native deserves a party, and I hope she has a king cake waiting for her at home.
In case you missed it, Rep. George Santos flashed a white supremacy hand gesture while voting for Kevin McCarthy in the tenth round of voting for Speaker of the House. 👀
NEW: Mayor Bowser has officially vetoed the bill revising DC’s criminal code.

“The Council should amend this bill to remove provisions for which there remains deep divisions within the criminal justice community.”
Just left the scene in Brightwood where our community suffered a heartbreaking shooting that took one life and injured three others, including a young child with non-life threatening injuries. This gun violence should anger each and every one of us. It has no place in our city.
First, it is critical to share any information or footage you may have about the shooting with law enforcement by calling 202-727-9099 or texting 50411. This information or videos can make a difference in identifying those responsible and preventing further gun violence.
Congratulations to the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington on selecting @shawnjtownsend as its new President & Chief Executive Officer. It was our great pleasure to support the @RAMWdc Board of Directors on this search.
’s last full day as the Speaker of the House. What an era. There’s so much that can be said about her and none of it would be enough so I’m not going to try. Thank you Madam Speaker.
From lighting the Kinara's red, black, and green candles to spending time with my loved ones, our Kwanzaa celebrations are some of my favorite memories.
Wishing you a safe and happy Kwanzaa.
Wishing you a joyful first day of Kwanzaa! This is a time to celebrate our umoja, or unity, with African people and the African diaspora around the world, as we strive to strengthen our families and communities through the knowledge of our culture and history.
