One more update this morning related to the new tree boxes installed on Warder. The plans call for American Sycamore to be planted in each box. I've found Sycamore's to be well suited in locations like these, so I expect a high % will survive the critical first few years.

Thank you all for coming out and having fun with us, as well as for voicing your concerns. It is crucial that we ensure our seniors are informed and have access to all the resources our city provides so they can live their best lives. Can’t wait to return soon!

Nothing beats getting out there in person and hearing from communities first hand about what’s really going on. This way, we can find ways to help. Today, hosted our first hybrid bingo with the wonderful seniors at Congress Heights Senior Wellness Center.

ANC6A posted “no dogs allowed” signs at Kingsman soccer field (1300 block of D). Yet dogs are still being run here - even while kids are practicing soccer. DC spent $400K on upgrades here. I hope we can preserve this investment for our community.

Today, we celebrate a historic moment in US history. It is one marked with pride, joy, & reflection for me. Congrats to Justice Jackson for her hard work, perseverance, & strength! She is a model of integrity, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact she has on the court.

I was so moved to see Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson confirmed this afternoon. Like so many of you, I can’t help but feel a sense of pride—a sense of joy—to know that this deserving, accomplished Black woman will be a part of the highest court in the land.

Today I drove from Congress Heights to Chevy Chase. Crossed the whole city. Every minute of the journey was an education in how land use and housing policy, intertwined with systemic racism, has created the segregated and inequitable city we know today.

Angelica has worked in agriculture for 20 years. She does some of the hardest work in the country to harvest our food. Without people like her, we wouldn’t eat. Angelica deserves to call this country home without the fear of deportation.

So, my mom, who is semi-retired now, decided to go to Paris by herself for a couple of weeks and is basically just galavanting around eating good food, walking through gardens and markets, and living her best life. Extremely happy for her.
