I mostly agree. That said, "don't feed" policies are important because 1) They improve mental health for all, esp. UMs. 2) They remove the thing narcissists & bad-faith actors crave the most – attention. Contrast: media falling into Trump's trap & giving him free airtime in 2016.
The burden of engaging with #troll to showcase their terrible behavior and hence take corrective action should not fall on women and minorities, but often does.

I'd like to see proof that ignoring it causes the troll to stop. That didn't stop him from continuing to rant on the mailing lists when I was a grad student at uwcse.
