      @pmddomingos claims that the (silent) majority of the ML community would agree with him that #neurips papers should not need to contain a wider impact section that is considered during the review process. Is this a section a good idea? Should it be considered in the reviews?

      I was recuperating from medical insurance when @pmddomingos tweeted about slippery slope nonsense. Exactly same arguments used to stop @NeurIPSConf name change. Privileged don't want even the minimum accountability because they are insecure their hold on power will be minimized

      I recall many powerful researchers also stopping reproducibilty from being made compulsory in #AI conferences. I was shocked. People lack basic #ethics in fact that seems like a prerequisite to gain power

      Reproducibility and broader impacts are completely different things. One does not justify the other. (Also: please stop demonizing people whose views you disagree with.)
