It is what bothered me through the whole series. I am sure there was or is a woman out there who could have achieved such- but the gender bias in the game as well as life may have prevented the factual instead had to go to fiction. She had my fav black opening the sicilian dragon

That was the disappointing thing about
#QueensGambit It seemed to imply that a female genius had to have addiction and mental health issues. I guess they needed drama and were not creative enough to think beyond the usual tropes of a troubled genius. - Show replies
