Any turbulent problem where the small scales contribute to the large scales via dissipation but also some inverse-cascade process, e.g., development of large-scale flows in rotating turbulent convection, or the dynamo mechanism in MHD. I'm right

yes, as you may know the main limitation to achieve High Reynolds number in traditional numerical simulations is the resolution. These "meshless" methods seem promising in attaining, in a faster and cheaper(?) way, high fidelity simulations of turbulent flow.
