I read it differently. He’s talking to Wolfram about his assessment of how Wolfram views people. Given that, he discourages Wolfram from trying to build out a large thing he needs to administer, b/c he won’t like the people interaction part of that.

I also don’t read his encouragement to fall in madly in love as misogyny and somehow implying that women are only useful for satiating some desire. Rather, this was an explicit counterpoint to his previous points, to remind Stephen to be open and vulnerable in matters of romance.
