I think it's both of them honestly. From talking to some employees it sounds like Gwynne is the adult in the room to get musk to simmer down. She is an impressive gal! I really wish we could see more of her in the media spotlight.

Always felt something was just weird about Elon - especially after his recent nutcase response to COVID and reopening the tesla factory. Thanks for pointing out that the real driving force behind SpaceX is Gwynne Shotwell - they are in good hands then.

The question to ask when something is successful is who are the people you could replace and still accomplish the task. I think Musk was totally replaceable, the true people who led the project deserve most of the credit.

She's pretty cool. Saw her on campus last year where she talked about how they referred to the astronauts as the 'dads' to emphasize the importance of their safety. She's also one of the few tech leaders with a degree in applied math!
