2/ Women are frequently made moderators to babysit aggressive panelists, to listen to others. My worst experience was at @VentureBeat event where almost every woman was a moderator. Not even given credit on their app. They even admitted they got them last minute for diversity
3/ There are excellent journalists (women/men) who are professional moderators. Do amazing job bringing right questions to floor. But I am not. At @VentureBeat I was asked to interview another person on how to build a research team. I was told that I spoke too much after session
4/To clarify first message: I was asked to interview someone else about #AI they didn't want to interview me. On top of it they talked about my notoriety. Do not just put your token woman as a moderator. This happens so frequently
5/ Another invitation to give a talk mentioned that their goal is to increase diversity of speakers! Why would you tell me that? You can achieve that goal without humiliating the women. Alas, people do not understand negative impact these measures have
