Sexist behavior from @sapinker continues. #protestNIPS was a catalyst in positive change at #neurips This year @celestekidd got a standing ovation after sharing her #MeToo
experience and guiding the men to be allies. Amazing change from TITS parties and misogynistic rappers https://twitter.com/sapinker/status/1209171768788869120 …

I informed Scott Aaronson about
#protestNIPS regarding quantum supremacy naming issues. Yet, he didn't even bother to respond or credit me and proceeds to invive@sapinker to write about it! wtf! How is@sapinker an authority ?? He is not part of our community or its struggles.2 replies 9 retweets 121 likesShow this thread -

@sapinker got me banned from Twitter when I complained about his misogynistic tweets regarding#protestNIPS last year. You can read more here; http://tensorlab.cms.caltech.edu/users/anima/pubs/NIPS_Name_Debate.pdf … presented at#NeurIPS workshop last year. @preskill when you coined name you had no bad intentions. I am aware of that. But I hope you help us create better inclusive communities. I don't know about issues in quantum community, but from my experience with#neurips name change can bring a sea of positive change2 replies 3 retweets 52 likesShow this thread -
During
#protestNIPS name change movement, women were primarily attacked and trolled. I even got gun threats. It was an extremely stressful period for us. Some of them came from@sapinker followers after he attacked us and ridiculed us.5 replies 7 retweets 92 likesShow this thread -
Scott unfriended me on Facebook because I called out his terrible judgement to invite
@sapinker to write about#protestNIPS These so-called enlightened scientists have terrible blindspots that their egos prevent them ever overcoming. Truly disappointing!3 replies 13 retweets 105 likesShow this thread -
Both Scott and
@sapinker could have spent holidays with their families peacefully, as I had planned to do. Instead, they spread toxicity and shut down voices who are marginalized and facing discrimination in our scientific communities.#meToo

Replying to @AnimaAnandkumar @sapinker and
Having read Scott's blog and blog comments for several years, he strikes me as a deeply caring person who grapples very earnestly with these issues.

Indeed until now I have followed his blog and had no issues whatsoever. That's why I am taken aback how badly misinformed he is on #protestNIPS I tries to educate him and he blocked me. Goes on to show that great scientists can have blind spots
