#PeerReview quality gets worse with each upcoming #AI conference. Our #ICLR2020 reviews has extreme swings (8s and 1s). Reviewers giving low scores are nasty and bitter. Its like they are out on a war and want to destroy competition. Not healthy. What are the alternatives?

Publicly-visible authenticated named signatures on reviews. This keeps them polite and professional. Embargo the signatures til all reviews are in if one is worried about big names swaying opinions.

I pity the grad student who gives a bad review to the work of a vindictive senior researcher

I think it is possible to anonymize but carry over the reliability and quality of review across conferences. It should be part of promotion like publications.
