      Exactly! The points laid out by Learned-Miller is strikingly similar to what Ryan makes in his paper. "This field is pervasive and new, y'all! Get a specialized agency to do it!"

      Dave -- Slightly off topic. I would love for articles to put proposed ideas in context with existing work for a more informed audience. Esp vital for "cross pollinator" pieces (like an AI researcher commenting on AI regulation) How can folks empower journalists to do this?

      #AI regulation is not one size fits all. Autonomous driving should be handled very differently compared to medical imaging. That's why it is so challenging. Need #ai experts + domain experts +policy people. Need to extensively test and evaluate all its use cases

          Regulation is nice. We expecting compliance to regulation? Self regulation? Who's going to enforce? The resources with expertise who want to do enforcement will be tiny ... IMHO
