DeepNude will not die, it will continue to propagate in dark web. Problem goes deeper. Women have always been shamed and threatened. Back in my undergrad I was told that my fellow students had photoshopped my face onto nude bodies because they were mad that I topped my class.
Better to keep these things dead. I never heard about it and I wish a person of Andrew's caliber wouldn't give it undeeded publicity.

Anima, while I agree with you that diversity in large tech companies prevents people to screw up (like countless examples in the past), I feel the problem here is even deeper. With machine learning models becoming widely accessible, soon you won't need large commercial 1/
institutions to do this. All you need is 3 guys in a basement and a lot of free time. I'm currently doing research on fringe communities (e.g. incels), and the potential for harm there is insane. I'm not sure how society will deal with deep fakes when computer savvy 2/
Tbh this seems to be some male adolescent (remember males are not really adult in the brain department before late 20ies) misplaced idea of “fun”. Not sure more diversity would change this behavior irrespective of how important diversity in CS&AI absolutely is.
