I updated the blog post clarifying that during my tenure at @awscloud , I did not work on face recognition or was involved in any of the decisions to sell it to law enforcement. It's law enforcement's job to know happens in public. There should definitely be regulations about how data can be accessed and used. Perhaps fine grained statute of limitations. If officer wants to stop you, shouldn't be able to "search for recent traffic or jaywalking offenses"
