Peer review is not the scientific method. Peer review is intended to support the scientists' claims that they followed scientific methods, and to assist those less intimately familiar with the science in judging the value of the research. It can also be abused to censor/devalue

Yes, #peerreview it has its drawbacks, but completely skipping that is not the right approach. #openreview system for #ICLR has been great for our field where reviewers have to post their review in open. Please do not go directly to media. That distorts #AI research
