Regarding size of data being impossible to store, I don't believe so. Latest supercomputers should be able to handle them (we have broken exascale barrier with
#summit). It is more an issue of legacy and change being slow when it comes to computational issues -
Don't want to kickstart an internet firefight, but I've always held that the best test of physics is engineering. If your theory can't be reduced to practice via delivering accessible, everyday products or services, then you run the risk of getting high off your own supply.
