Yes I have seen this when I was tweeting under my real name (I am a woman). Had a convo with a very smart man on here who was basically saying he wouldn't have lunch with me alone. lunch. with a woman in tech.

I lead a lab. I see very little real workplace need to have solo dinners with junior females (or males). It is perfectly possible to be an excellent mentor and good friend to the younger people without potentially ambiguous situations. The pool thing is just...beyond gross.

I am perfectly fine with dinners when we are short on time or we are meeting at cafes on weekends to discuss a project closer to home. In this case the invitation to the pool and giving me those looks makes it an unmistakable advance. That is more important than anything else
