Although I was in favor of a change, I think
@NipsConference is doing the right thing by redoubling its efforts to create substantial and long-lasting change in the conference and the community rather than making a symbolic name-change gesture.
And changing name of @NipsConference is not merely symbolic. It will prevent at least one avenue of making terrible sexist jokes. It is sad how you don't see how badly it affects the women attending the conference
