      I don’t like coconut rum. That’s all.

      I like savory coconut stuff. But not sweet coconut stuff. Coconut curry? 👍🏾 Coconut cookies? 👎🏾

      The bottom line is if I had any sense, I would’ve started drinking scotch when I was 20. That’s the big life question. Not “what does it all mean?” or “is there an afterlife?” No. It’s “how many wine coolers and other bullshit are you gonna drink until you discover whiskey?”

          So I was allowed to sip dad's bourbon at a fairly young age. Fast forward to college. Loved Bourbon mixed drinks- hated beer. Drank mixed drinks during drinking games instead of beer (this is a bad idea). Finally got onto beer. Love bourbon but still Scotch is too vomity for me.

          I guess my point is almost all whisky is easier to drink then scotch and I don't see the need to branch into Scotches. Even without a normalish wine cooler phase. Honestly Scotch reminds me very much of the taste of vomiting after drinking too much bourbon. So that might be it.

          I thought UVA would teach me to drink bourbon. I was wrong. Didn’t stop me from trying, though.

          Whiskey is not my thing, but then neither are wine coolers. Sake is where it's at. Also vodka + whatever mixer is around (or not).

          It’s never to late to start drinking scotch! My best friend and I decided we had to learn to like scotch in preparation for a 40th birthday trip to Scotland and now we both love it!

          I finally found some bourbons/ryes/scotches that are mellow enough for me. Cannot handle the big stuff

          I tried good Scotch when I was 25 and I just couldn't like it. It tasted like rocket fuel to me. It took about 5 years for me to go from 'maybe a whiskey sour' to enjoying good Scotch neat.

          I didn't start drinking til I was 21. For the next 10 yars, I had a very typical daiquiris/rum+cokes -> X-rated Fusion/Alize type liqueurs -> whiskey sour -> hey I actually like beer? -> oh, hey I like bourbon/scotch/brandy!
