It seems like the big lift would be getting 1M ppl to sit for a properly administered IQ test. Educational attainmemt interests me not at all.

The hits for educational attainment are almost all IQ (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_correlation …). It's true that as a phenotype it's a poor proxy for IQ itself. And yet there's a LOT to discover using it. Also, SAT scores correlate 0.8 with IQ so you could also get self-reported data for that
