This weekend @SenLaGrone sent out a mailer meant to smear @JenDayforNE who is running against him in LD 49. This was brought to my attention as my friend's picture was carelessly placed on the attack ad instead of Jen Day's image.

While Governor Ricketts ended up vetoing the bill and leaving Nebraskans with no options to reduce prison overcrowding, this legislation was supported by the ACLU, the Nebraska County Attorneys Association, the Douglas County Attorney’s office, and law enforcement.

Deputy Douglas County Attorney Jeff Lux and Police Sergeant Aaron Hanson representing the Omaha Police Officers Association even testified in support of the bill.

La Grone obviously doesn't think police are doing their jobs if they have left "anarchists" & "criminals" free to "continue roaming our communities". Is the Senator also saying that the police are advocating to "put dangerous criminals back into our communities"?

Why is the
@omahaPOA endorsing someone who thinks the police are failing at their jobs and want to endanger our communities? Not to mention one who commits liable against a private citizen?Show this thread -
If the
@omahaPOA truly wants peace in our community, they can start by disavowing lies and misinformation like the ones found in this mailer. They should pull their endorsement from Senator La Grone.Show this thread -
And the Senator should apologize to the volunteer he smeared, to Jen Day for the lies he's spreading about her, and to all Nebraskans, particularly his LD 49 constituency, for using fear mongering to try and get elected rather than actually coming up with solutions.pic.twitter.com/tCU1g1Zu4O
