During that forum, I had a scratchy throat and mild cough. Alisha noticed this and quietly passed me a cough drop before I spoke.

After that event, I carried a couple cough drops on me during every event. It helped moisten my mouth and soothed my throat from all the talking on the campaign trail.

I was her competitor, she could’ve watched me struggle, but instead, without hesitation, she handed me a cough drop and a coping skill. She lifted me up.
