I would like to remind everyone that VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) has expired. The 2019 reauthorization act (HR 1585) passed the House (no thanks to Don Bacon) and has been sitting in the Senate since the beginning of April.

Without VAWA's reauthorization, battered immigrant women have lost valuable and needed protections for both their safety and their immigration status.

VAWA should be reauthorized immediately. For every day the Senate doesn't reauthorize HR 1585, they are allowing violence against women belonging to a vulnerable population. Remind them of that when they claim to care about human trafficking.
