Another mailer sent this week from state Sen. Andrew La Grone's campaign attacking challenger Jen Day for the District 49 legislative seat has a photo of someone who is not Day.

And the Senator should apologize to the volunteer he smeared, to Jen Day for the lies he's spreading about her, and to all Nebraskans, particularly his LD 49 constituency, for using fear mongering to try and get elected rather than actually coming up with solutions.

If the truly wants peace in our community, they can start by disavowing lies and misinformation like the ones found in this mailer. They should pull their endorsement from Senator La Grone.

Why is the endorsing someone who thinks the police are failing at their jobs and want to endanger our communities? Not to mention one who commits liable against a private citizen?

La Grone obviously doesn't think police are doing their jobs if they have left "anarchists" & "criminals" free to "continue roaming our communities". Is the Senator also saying that the police are advocating to "put dangerous criminals back into our communities"?

While Governor Ricketts ended up vetoing the bill and leaving Nebraskans with no options to reduce prison overcrowding, this legislation was supported by the ACLU, the Nebraska County Attorneys Association, the Douglas County Attorney’s office, and law enforcement.

Ironically, the legislation that Senator La Grone is attacking Jen Day for supporting is LB 1004 which passed the legislature with bipartisan support. You may remember this bill from Sen. La Grone's ridiculous attempt to filibuster by reading Yertle the Turtle.
