Where is the comprehensive strategy for Syria? I haven’t seen anything to suggest we have one? The PM has not given me as a member of Parliament any justification for her action? She could & should have recalled Parliament last week.

Yes you have, it is called deterring the further use of chemical weapons. What part of that do you not grasp?

No it did not and if this set of strikes does not work then we go again but bigger, just like this time. Up to the Russians and Syrians how much punishment they want for using Chemical weapons.

I agree the govt has been absent from making the argument this week, something that has many Tory MPs baffled and despairing. I was criticising them for this yesterday, as were other hacks like @DPJHodges and @MattChorley

Diane Abbott and Jeremy Corbyn out making the case against bombing Syria today. Who from the Government is out arguing for intervention? Utterly bizarre given it could begin at any time.

May is a dictator at heart - she's shown this tendency a lot. She's also in the pocket of Trump because he is of same mindset but far more powerful. Tories always look to exploit other people & now they're making sure they're on same side as the most powerful exploiter on planet

She can't make or hold an argument, she showed that during the election and by avoiding parliament she avoids being shown up again for an inability to articulate or debate a position she is trying to hold, especially when it is weak.

Regardless of overall strategy, a limited attack on chemical making facilities, backed by NATO, should surety be something that you and rest of Labour can support. No risk to our troops, limited risk to Syrians. Seems like, unfortunately, limited risk to Russian military too.

Every democracy gives military power to the executive branch of government. Only ministers can see full intelligence picture and act quickly enough to defend our vital national interests. Parliament’s role is to hold ministers to account and can vote Govt out if it disapproves.
