Also we keep our backups on a totally separate hosting provider in a different geographical location than our regular servers so even if DO shut down everything we can still access our backups.

What about purchases made after our daily backup? If we can rebuild them from our payment providers we would (all ones from stripe can definitely be rebuilt and most ones from PayPal). Any purchases we could not rebuild would be refunded and the sellers paid for them anyway.

How do we do this with so many custom DO services? They are all composed with terraform and any data we put into a third party DO service is also stored in our database that is the only piece of Packix that has to then be backed up.

In light of the fires at Datacenter I just want to remind people backups are a must. Packix does at least 1 backup a day and has a Disaster Recovery Plan, to be running in 12 hours again from scratch if somehow lost the entire DC we are in.

OVH had a considerable incident today. SBG-2, the datacenter where Pock’s website was hosted, is destroyed.
I will try to bring the site back to life as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can find the latest versions of Pock directly on GitHub.
