They cover politics like sports, hyping the drama, inflaming conflict, forcing us to choose the red team or the blue team and to support our group with the blind passion of a fanatic. Cable news is as responsible for the divisiveness of our politics as our politicians themselves.

My campaign is about asking people to choose their friends and neighbors over Tucker Carlson and Don Lemon. Be a "Hoosier" more than you are a “Liberal” or “Conservative.” That means putting personal relationships over political leanings and turning off the cable news.

These are tough times for everybody. We ALL miss the social routines lost to the pandemic. But if we fill the void with a cable news host sitting in a NY studio, our divide will only grow deeper. That’s why I'm asking people to think locally when choosing their congressman.

Forget the labels affixed by cable news and ask yourself: who has my best interests at heart? Is it a wealthy real estate investor from TN named Joseph Albert Hollingsworth III? Or a hard-working guy born-and-raised in IN who truly understands what it means to be a Hoosier?
