It's pretty wild there's a national poll worker shortage when it's a PAID gig. Without poll workers, fewer votes are cast and counted.

Most people who usually work the polls are elderly and/or disabled. My state (Ohio) does not enforce masks, and
@FrankLaRose refuses to make polling stations mask mandatory. So the people most likely to contract and die from covid probably dont give a shit about the measly pay -
Exactly this! I live in Ohio also and would love to volunteer but am high risk due to a pre-existing lung condition and since they won't enforce the mask mandate, I'm not doing it.

The ableds need to volunteer themselves and their own kids for the polls I'm afraid. Maybe after they contract covid and develop disabilities this country will stop using the disabled as disposable essential workers.

My county in Maryland says they’re losing volunteers a day. Most are seniors and are understandably afraid of COVID.
