Agreed. If he feels so strongly about his beliefs he wouldn’t mind us all knowing his name. As a senior doctor I find his discriminatory behavior disgraceful and unbecoming.

I think the Torquay Medical Health and Wellness Clinic should reconsider the inclusion of this doctor in their practice given they are unprepared to offer reproductive health services to our community.
-
Can they just say “Dr X doesn’t treat women”.

#auspol No, it's quite OK. But, withdraw all public funding for this practice. Immediately. Private views, private practice. You don't get to choose on the public dime. End of story. - Još 1 odgovor

Unless the entire town doctors decline this service no one is being denied. However, I personally wouldn't want to take my chances on a Mirena, Depo-P or other contraceptive services from a doctor who is anti-contraception. Doesn't really instil trust in the procedure efficacy

Just wondering if they would treat a disabled woman with deprovera when they can’t deal with normal hormone swings involved with menstruation. The pill and depo are used to treat a lot of things not just contraception!

Given the religious discrimination bill hasn’t even been introduced in Parliament, I’d say this is very much illegal at the moment.

Vic doctors can currently conscientiously object if they refer the patient to someone else (not so easy in regional areas or when people are scared/vulnerable to go docs in 1st place). Although if the bill passes they may not even have to do that any longer. Slippery slope.
