    From today, local authorities in England must take “all reasonable steps” to prevent and relieve homelessness. Greater Manchester’s Homelessness Action Network recently published a radical plan to end rough sleeping by 2020.

    Today the comes into force. The Act places new legal duties on English councils so that everyone who is homeless or at risk of homelessness will have access to meaningful help. Thank you to all campaigners, charities and MPs who made it happen!

    The government has reversed its decision to prevent 18-21 year olds from receiving support with housing costs. On behalf of the young people we support, Centrepoint has worked hard to make the government aware of the impact of this policy. We’re pleased they have taken notice.
