Very thankful I had the chance to get away with Britainy, Will and Lila during the kids' fall break. As the kids grow – too quickly – we become more and more grateful for these moments with them.

We continue to set record-lows for the unemployment rate in Kentucky. For the first time ever, we've seen five straight months of unprecedented low numbers – the longest stretch in our history. That means more Kentuckians are getting back to work and providing for their families.

My aunt Mary Ann Miller was an extraordinary person who spent her career serving Kentucky's children through public education. Friday she was inducted into the Kentucky Academic Hall of Fame. This was a special moment for my uncle Ed, my Dad and our entire family. Thank you KAAC.

Twenty-one years ago today, our nation suffered the worst terrorist attack in our history. So many lives were lost, including my classmate. September 11, 2001, forever changed us all. We must always remember this day, those lost and the bravery of so many.

Today, Britainy and I joined and to help raise awareness around what we can do as Kentuckians to help our neighbors who don't have enough food. No person or child should go hungry, and together we can ensure more of our families have food on their tables.

Isaiah 41:13: "I am the Lord your God; I strengthen you and tell you, 'Do not be afraid; I will help you.'" Communities in Eastern and Western Kentucky have been through the unimaginable. Despite the challenges, we see God in the response and in the strength of our people.

My grandfather preached in this church for decades. It took a direct hit in December’s tornados. Today, it stands rebuilt!
