I’m sheltering from rain under canopy
Homeless man sleeps here. His cardboard, sleeping bag & umberella are here to stay dry
Then this
@lambeth_council the guy said he works for you. His lorry was full of blankets & sleeping bags
This isn’t ok. We shouldn’t let this happenpic.twitter.com/rUcpDAK7z1

Helping people into work is a great tool to help homelessness. I’m so pleased people believed in you and gave you the chance etc.

It was just one person, changed my life with that one little bit of trust and encouragement, I got into the countryside after being in a city, where you were regularly assaulted, urinated on. First time I got a broken bone was from a group of lads at 3am as I slept in a park

My concern is generalisations & "othering" that creep into this type of debate e.g. "100s of them"/"they're druggies". Each rough sleeper IS a person with a name & a history. I was talking to someone last night whose marriage broke up after 10 yrs in the navy

Well said. I never touch drugs except 3 pints with friends at the weekend and an odd cigarette but ended up homeless through a work accident and a failed relationship, some who have never experienced it are to quick to judge
