I think, simulation is not a good solution for training AI systems, although it seems to help in some problems nowadays. It just complements the limitations of our current models and training algorithms, to better navigate in the search space and find an optimal solution. ++

I think, we will eventually develop better models & training algorithms to learn from small amount of data, without resorting to simulations. The algorithm will handle the data in such a way that will handle cases not available in the original data.
