  2. I've visited several concentration camps. The sight of train tracks, rooms full of children's shoes, & gas chambers are seared in my memory. I keep a stone from Auschwitz as a reminder that "For evil to flourish, it only requires good men to do nothing."

  3. Can’t believe Kobe news. My wife went to high school w/ him, and I remember hearing stories about him my freshman yr of college before he was a household name. He worked his tail off and became a legend. He gave generously to help kids & fight homelessness. RIP.

  4. Our homicide prosecutors, who evaluate the legality of officers’ use of deadly force, participated in use of force training simulator. This training gives us a better perspective on officers’ split-second decisions and a stronger foundation to uphold the law.

  10. Honored & humbled to receive Community Hero award at MLK Parade Foundation Gala. Dr. King’s legacy is universally inspiring. I hope my legacy one day makes my daughters proud of our work to reform our criminal justice system and promote justice & fairness in our community.

  11. 2019 data shows we've made tremendous progress in 3 years steering kids away from downward spiral of system. Juvenile felony cases down 27%; misdemeanors down 47%; kids charged as adults down 69%! This improves public safety, saves $$, & gives our kids better chances to succeed.

  12. New 2019 data shows 77% (!) decrease in jail bookings for kids 17 & under since 2016. This is from investing in prevention, civil citations, smarter charging decisions, & great law enforcement partnerships. We're breaking the school-to-prison pipeline.
