What’s your plan exactly?

Clean energy should be incentivised and phased in over a sustained period. A carbon tax does nothing but make life more difficult and more expensive for those on lower incomes. Those in poverty can't worry about the end of the world when they worry about the end of the month.
-
That’s a lovely comment. The science is indicating we have maybe 20 years. So keeping that timeline in mind ... how long you want to piss around?
-
Is this the same science that predicted we would run out of petroleum by 2000? Interestingly, these 'indications' always seem to exaggerate the rate of climate change. As throughout human history, as the world and its climate changes, humans will adapt.
-
if you are actually an engineering student you know full well, the predictions that said "2000" are vastly outdated by decades. but to directly answer your question... NO this is NOT the same science. not sure where you live, but people are NOT adapting.
-
Really? Climate change scientists continuously overstate the consequences and rate of climate change. And humans are adapting. Amsterdam, for example, is four metres below sea-level - they've adapted.
-
They didn’t do it to adapt to climate change lmao. How are you going to pay to turn every major coastal city of the world into Amsterdams?
-
Why else did they do it? Aesthetic? Amsterdam's sea defenses are to protect against rising sea-levels. And Amsterdam is an extreme example. My point is humans will adapt to climate change. It's the only rational option.

1. "Although it is hard to see on an individual level, the evidence that carbon prices will cause consumers to reduce emissions is compelling."
-
2. "Closer to home, several studies provide evidence on how consumers have responded to British Columbia’s carbon tax. Each suggests that households in BC reduced gasoline consumption by 7-8% in response to BC’s $30/t carbon tax."/3

The detailed, highly specific Conservative Party of Canada environmental policy document is a distinct contrast. Where can I find that again?
-
Carbon Dioxide tax isn’t and has never been an environmental tax. It’s just a money grab.
-
Wrong. Opposition to the carbon dioxide tax is part of a money grab by the fossil fuel industry looking to hold on to and grab as much money as they can. Otherwise, carbon taxes represent one of the most effective ways to realistically limit carbon output in the near future.

Andy,
@OntarioPCParty just announced their climate plan, they have sent out an email telling people they can not use the term " climate change" any organization that does will not receive funding. Since you two think alike, is this your climate change plan as well? -
It most certainly is since he was cut from the same cloth as Harper, who violated the basic rights of scientists by stifling their freedom of speech. I would know, this lot tried to block the publication of a study I authored demonstrating industrial pollution caused weight gain
