And here’s another idiotic #hydroxychloroquine cultist willfully misinterpreting what I mean when I say the evidence base for the drug is very weak and oppose its use off-trial.🙄🤦🏻‍♂️https://twitter.com/kevinjaixen/status/1249448276220432385 …

So you will go on record stating that if you contract this virus, under no circumstances what so ever, that you are not to be given this drug.

Yes, it is. Very weak. When you have no control group and 95% of the patients treated have mild to asymptomatic disease, you’d likely get results like this treating with a sugar pill. 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

Docs who’ve actually been using #Hydroxychloroquine to treat #COVID19 are less than impressed with it. For example, @umichmedicine has abandoned the drug and no longer uses it routinely because docs saw no evidence of efficacy, but they did see toxicity.https://labblog.uofmhealth.org/rounds/chloroquine-ibuprofen-and-beyond-doctors-discuss-latest-treatments-and-treatment-rumors-for …

Everyone's too easily offended these days. In my opinion I believe that hydroxychloroquine works. The real question is what is the right dosing and length of treatment. Plus adding azithromycin without active pneumonia is a Bad Idea. Added risk of cardiac complications. And me=MD

Evidence, hard scientific evidence is still required. Otherwise all the surmising might as well be about angels dancing on the head of a pin.
