Massive kudos to @samsmith, who by coming out will help other non-binary people who have to confront the ignorance and bigotry of others.
The people who get angry at *pronouns* are exactly the same who call the left always offended/"triggered" snowflakes.https://www.theguardian.com/music/2019/sep/13/sam-smith-on-being-non-binary-im-changing-my-pronouns-to-theythem …

If they were transgender, they would use the appropriate he or she. If you are non binary you don’t identify with either gender exclusively. So you use they/them. It’s not hard to do.

Have you ever had a mate called Dave, Jim, Bob, Ed, etc? Were you able to use a nickname for them, rather than the name they were assigned. What about women who got married and changed their name? We change how we address people all the time to reflect their wishes. Just do it.

It's really not. There's no shame in getting it wrong, at first. I know I did for a while. Change is not always easy to adapt to. But that doesn't mean you can't learn it. As long as you are willing to embrace the change. Really, it doesn't affect you. But it means a lot to them.

SJW shit does get strange sometime my man. But really, treat people how they want. If they wanna be called they. Cool. I assume you want to be Ian. Let's just be civil. (friend from across the pond) #JC4PM
