I need to really dig into this article a little more, but I think it misses the mark in a few ways. Seems like it’s a case of parachute journalism, which explains why the writer missed the mark... I’m not a Pete homer, but there’s way more nuance to some of these criticisms

I'm not sure you can miss the mark when your core argument is that politicians should meaningfully engage with the communities their policies affect. There's lots of good reporting on Pete's record now - check out Buzzfeed and Current Affairs too.

I mean, facts are misreported. For instance, Pete had nothing to do with the no panhandling signs. That was an independent non-profit that the city works with, but that company ultimately is there to represent the local businesses. They were quickly taken down.
