I’m old enough to remember when people thought metal detectors in schools were a sign of violent communities and dysfunctional schools, and of a need to make it harder for kids to get their hands on guns. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A judge wouldn’t go to work without metal detectors and guards, either would our politicians. It’s not acceptable that our kids go to school with out them. I would seriously contemplate home schooling if you have a school aged child. #FixIt

I remember when the press wasn't filled with leftists that shilled for government control over every aspect of our life. Harder for kids to get their hands on guns how? Nevermind, we're all aware of the tired leftist argument. You want to "protect the kids" but only your way.

I’m old enough to remember when gun access was easier to obtain than it is today, but we had no school shooting fears because we were taught basic decency, morals, and values. Gun problem? No, people problem. Until that is fixed, we need to make schools safe.

So I expect metal detectors will be removed from all airports and federal buildings so we don't appear to be a violent society, I expect you won't have any armed guards to protect you aswell

I'm old enough to remember going to O'Hare field and there were no security checkpoints. Visitors could go to the gates, we could go in the plane with dad and talk to the pilot and then come back out, and we could go to the observation deck on top of the terminal bldg.
