Andy, you wrote a whole book arguing for Obama’s impeachment.https://twitter.com/AndrewCMcCarthy/status/1191879837117558785 …

I’ve been like a broken record, but clearer now then ever: Only sensible defense here has always been: assume there was a quid pro quo and argue that it’s not consequential enough conduct to impeach over. Your daily reminder. https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/10/the-presidents-best-ukraine-defense-not-an-impeachable-offense/ …

Mona, it sounds like you didn’t read the book. 1- I argued that you can have a hundred impeachable offenses, but if there is not a bipartisan public consensus for POTUS’s removal, it can’t happen.

2- moreover, I argued that if it can’t happen, it is a mistake to file articles of impeachment because a Senate acquittal is apt to encourage executive misbehavior.

Did you also argue that the country is well-served by frivolous arguments that using the power of the presidency in an arms-for-dirt bribery scheme was not an impeachable offense?

There is a bipartisan public consensus. It just isn't shared by MOC

What role does the constitution establish for parties in the impeachment process?

What’s to stop a party from taking the Lindsey Graham approach (“frankly, I wont read it. I’ve written it off as a sham process”)?

That must be why you subtitled the book “Building the POLITICAL Case For Obama’s Impeachment”- nothing says “bipartisan public consensus” like “the political case”- what a disingenuous dope.pic.twitter.com/VvzjiRuBW1
