I would never expect a candidate to sell or put their businesses in a blind trust unless they were elected. I believe he may have meant "elected" here.

I would hope that someone running for POTUS knows the difference between "run" and "elected" and that if he chooses one word over the other, that's what he means. Otherwise, how can we ever trust him to do what he says? "Well, I meant....."
