This speaker is saying "master server" which is a term I dislike, but with his accent it sounds like "monster server" and I like that quite a bit!
I try hard to never use slave (and mostly succeed), but I'm less thorough avoiding "master". Feel like there's plenty terms describing primary/standby, but far fewer for e.g. multi-master. I'm not sure if I'm lazy, or if the term in such a context (MM, git) is less problematic.

Primary-primary imo doesn't capture it well. But active-active is pretty good.

As I say elsewhere in this thread, I think the term "master" is much less problematic than the term "slave".
